Nayan Murthy
Nayan Murthy is a musician, composer and student. Nayan has played violin for eight years, starting at age five. As a first violinist in the Concert Orchestra in the Metropolitan Youth Symphony and former first violinist in the Young Strings Ensemble in the Portland Youth Philharmonic, Nayan has demonstrated strong musical acumen. Also a talented Indian Carnatic violinist, he has played in numerous concerts in the United States and India in both styles: Western Classical and Indian Carnatic. A student at the Catlin Gabel School, Nayan is fascinated by the intersection of chemistry and materials science, and conducts award-winning research in nanomaterials. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking the Pacific Northwest and watching Marvel movies with his family.
