Dorisiya Yosifova


Bulgarian-born violinist Dorisiya Yosifova is a Boston based freelancer and instructor. Her most significant performances include appearances with the Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra, Jupiter Quartet in Oberlin Conservatory’s Winter Term Intensive, performing at Carnegie Hall as part of Oberlin Orchestra, and Le Poisson Rouge with the Next Festival for Emerging Artists. She has played as concertmaster with the Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra, Eastern Music Festival Orchestras and Round Top Orchestra, and most recently acted as Principle Second with the Boston Conservatory at Berklee Orchestra. Throughout her career so far, Dorisiya has won several awards and competitions, including the Idyllwild Arts’ Concerto Competition, the Eastern Music Festivals’ Award for Orchestral Excellence, the Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Merit Scholarship and Marrowstone Music Festival’s String Fellowship Award.

In addition to performing, Dorisiya is currently a Violin/Viola Teaching Artist at Youth and Family Enrichment Services in Hyde Park, MA, a private teacher at Music & Arts in Newton, MA, and maintains a private studio in Brighton, MA. Dorisiya most recently completed a Master’s of Music degree with high honors at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Dorisiya also holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory.
