Emily Monroe began playing the violin at the age of five, studying with violinist and violist, Ning Zhao. From 2012 to 2016 she attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a high schooler, receiving private instruction from Kevin Lawrence. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music and is a member of Cornelia Heard's violin studio.
