Bao Khue Tran


My name is Tran Bao Khue. I leave in Hanoi, Vietnam. I started playing the piano when I was 5 and I am currently studying at Vietnam National Academy of Music with Prof.Tran Thu Ha, grade 6/9 of Precollege program. And I have had masterclass with Prof.Edward Auer (Indiana University) and lessons with faculty from all around the world: Prof. Edward Wolanin, Dr.Jungwha Moon Auer, Dr. Chun-wai Mischa Ngan….

I first entered a competition in 2015 and I won the silver prize in Asia International Piano Competition in Korea. Later in 2015, I received the Encouraging prize in the 3rd Hanoi International Piano Competition 2015. For my achievements in the year, I was given the Toyota Scholarship for Young Vietnamese Music Talents 2015. The following year (2016), I participated in Lansum International Music Festival in Los Angelese and won Third prize in the Piano Concerto category and Second prize in the Piano Solo Romantic Era category. Prior to the festival, I played the Bach Piano concerto in D-Minor BWV1052, first movement with the Vietnam Academy of Music orchestra in April. By the end of 2016, I received Yamaha Scholarship for my accomplishment throughout the year. This year I enrolled in the 2017 Edward Auer Workshop and in October, I got to play for the first time with the Viet Nam Symphony Orchestra, in which I played the Kabalevsky Piano Concerto No.3, the 2nd and 3rd movement. I enjoy playing music together with following academic school grade 9.
