Mikayla Rogers
Mikayla Rogers, a native of Rapid City, South Dakota, is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance at Northern Arizona University under Dr. Frank Scott and studies Collaborative Piano with Rita Borden. She began playing the piano at the age of five. At the age of 13, her passion for piano led her to study with James MacInnes, a former graduate of The Julliard School. Mikayla has been invited to participate in masterclasses, including those featuring Vadym Kholodenko, Sean Chen, Jeffrey Swann, Tony Caramia, Paul Barnes, Paul Sanchez, Albert Kim, and vocal coach Jeffery Peterson. Mikayla has also attended summer festivals including Rocky Ridge Music Center, Dakota Sky International Piano Academy, and Dakota Chamber Music at Minot State University. Among solo playing, Mikayla shares a passion for collaborative piano and has a vast amount of repertoire extending from vocal works to chamber music. This past summer, she spent a month accompanying opera singers and studying Italian in Mondavio, Italy.
