Katelynn Cherry is a Junior at St. Michaels High School. She studies voice at the Peabody Preparatory in Annapolis, MD. She has won many awards with her singing including New York Lyric Opera Competition, Classical Singer competition in Chicago, Peabody Voice Honors Award, Shirley Winston Rabb Voice Scholarship Competition, All-State Chorus soloist, All-Shore Chorus soloist, Maryland State Solo Competition. She has performed on stage in local theater productions and also sang solo performances on various other stages around Maryland such as the Avalon Theater in Easton and the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. She recently spent this summer at Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute. She will be performing at Walt Disney World in Florida this November with the National All Honors Ensemble and also in February at Carnegie Hall with the High School Honors Performance Ensemble. She is a 4-H’er, a Girl Scout and the reigning Miss DelMarVa and Miss Maryland Fire Prevention Queens. She likes to relax with her brother at home in Trappe, MD on the family farm with all her many pets!
