Hannah Bao
Hannah Bao was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and is currently a sophomore at Perkiomen Valley High School. She started playing the flute at the age of 9 with her elementary school’s concert band and has since continued with the program. She enjoys playing in her school’s symphony and wind ensemble as well. She is grateful for the opportunity that her school’s music department has provided for her to explore diverse musical collaboration.
Since 2016, she has been studying under the direction of Michael Maizels and participating in competitions. She won second prize with her duet partner in the Great Composer Series 2016 Art of Chamber Music competition, and third prize in the Great Composers Series 2017 Art of the Woodwinds and Brass competition as a soloist. She also has won second prize in the American Protege International Woodwinds and Brass competition in 2016.
