Angela (Doyoun) Kim


Angela (Doyoun) Kim is 16 years old and a Music Captain at Santa Sabina College on full academic and Music Scholarship. She is a former student of Prof. Gerard Willems and currently taught by Dr Christobel Llewellyn and Dr Kirill Monorosi from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
She is an active pianist and chamber musician, who has performed across Australia and won first prizes at numerous Australian Eisteddfods as well as in Europe, Korea and USA for her recital and in masterclass.

She recently won first prize in the advanced piano section at the Golden Classical Music Awards New York International Competition 2018 and invited to perform her debut, at the prestige Carnegie Hall at New York.
Angela began to launch an international career as she was selected winner, first prize recipient for 2017 Grand Virtuoso International Competition and being nominated to perform at the Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria.
Other accolades include performing her first piano concerto, the Grieg Concerto in A minor at the age of 14 at the 800yrs Dominican Jubilee Concert.
Her many major achievements includes Two awarded diplomas from the ‘Great Composers Global Competition’ and ‘Enkor International Music Competition’. Also, she won numerous prizes at various competitions across Australia. Recently she received the ‘Neta Maughan Bach and Baroque Award’ and Dr Miriam Hyde Award’ as winning first prize in the open age championship. She received the Daphne Dickenson Trophy at the Piano Championship, the Blue Scope Win Wollongong Eisteddfod. She took first prize at Australian National Eisteddfod and St George Eisteddfod and was selected across NSW to take part in the little Lev Vlassenko Piano Master class with Oleg Stepanov at the Kawai Show room last year.

Also, she was nominated to perform at the solo recital in the Theme and Variations Emerging Artist Piano Series and to perform the Schumann piano Quintet with Rising stars at the Sydney Conservatirium of Music. Angela was also invited to perform the Beethoven Concerto No 5 ‘The Emperor’ with the college orchestra at the City Recital Hall, Angel Place.

Angela is planning a career as a concert pianist, performing in Chamber Music and accompaniment, teaching and artistic research.
