Man Lai Lei
My name is Man Lai Lei and I have been studying piano from six years old. I hold diplomas from both Macau Conservatory, and Beijing Central Conservatory, having graduated in 2013. Later on, I pursue my further education at Oberlin Conservatory and successfully graduated in 2017. I have performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and guest artist with orchestra. I have traveled as a performing artist, and have been giving recitals across Asia and the United States during my career. The unique opportunity to study with some of the greatest professors in the world, as well as perform with a top tier orchestra, allowed me to grow immensely as a pianist and make strong connections with top teachers and students in this field.
I have won several competitions such as the first prize at the 2nd Macau-Asia International Piano Open Competition, first prize in the Liszt Performance and Chopin Etude Performance groups, the Bronze medal at the International Asia Pacific Grieg and Bartok Piano Competition. Furthermore, I was chosen to perform at the Legislative Assembly of Macau for their Open Day. Besides performing well as a pianist, I also able to manage my musical studies while keeping a 3.6 GPA as an English as a Second Language student. My work ethic and dedication have allowed me to expand my repertoire and grow as a musician. I will start my graduate school this Fall 2017 at Boston University with scholarship and study with one of the best teacher and performer in music world, Roberto Plano.
