Arya Babu


Arya Babu, age 10, is a 5th Grade student at Hathaway Brown in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Arya started learning piano at the age of 4. She develops her skills and techniques under the tutoring of Ms. Cynthia Crotty.

Arya won the 2nd prize at the Carmel Debut International Piano competition in Carmel, Indiana and CCCCA International Piano Competition in Cleveland, Ohio. She also won 2nd prize at the American Protégé competition and made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in May 2015.

Arya won first place at Virtuoso International Piano competition. She won first place in elementary level and also won the 1st place in Chinese music section winning ""The Confucius Institute Award for Distinguished Performance of Chinese Music"". She won at the American Protégé competition and performed at the Carnegie Hall on March 12th 2016.

Arya won first place at Golden Classical Music Awards and played at Carnegie Hall on Oct 29th, 2016.

Arya won first place at Golden Classical Music Awards and played at Carnegie Hall on March 5th, 2017. Arya won ‘Alternate Winner’ award at the Buckeye piano competition held in Apr 2017. Arya won 1st prize at Grand Virtuoso competition and performed at Salzburg, Austria in June of 2017. Arya won first place at American Protégé International Competition in May 2017 and will be performing at Carnegie Hall on Dec 24th, 2017.

Arya also participates at the NEOMTA Junior music festival and has received Unanimous Superior rating by the judges. She received her 1st gold cup in March of 2016.

Arya also loves to play chess, read and draw.
