Arya Babu


Arya Babu, age 10, is a 5th Grade student at Hathaway Brown school in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Arya started learning piano at the age of 4. She developed her skills and techniques under the tutoring of Ms. Cynthia Crotty.

Arya has won number of regional, national and international piano competitions in classical piano over the years. She made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in May 2015 after winning 2nd prize at the American Protégé competition. Arya has been a regular performer at Carnegie Hall after winning following international competitions
- Winner of American Protégé competition and performed at the Carnegie Hall in March 2016.
- First place at Golden Classical Music Awards and performed at Carnegie Hall in Oct 2016.
- First place at Golden Classical Music Awards and performed at Carnegie Hall in March 2017
- First place at American Protégé International Competition and will be performing at Carnegie Hall on Dec 24th 2017
- First place at American Fine Arts festival in Russian music and will be preforming in Carnegie Hall on Dec 10th 2017 and invited to music study to Europe with scholarship for a 10 day period and also performing in Germany, Salzburg and Italy.

Arya won first prize at Grand Virtuoso competition and performed at Mozarteum Salzburg, Austria in June of 2017.

Arya was also awarded ""The Confucius Institute Award for Distinguished Performance of Chinese Music"" at a Chinese competition held in Cleveland.

Arya also participates at the NEOMTA Junior music festival and has received Unanimous Superior rating by the judges. She received her 1st gold cup in March of 2016.

Arya also loves to play chess and competes in chess competitions.
