Arya Babu


Arya Babu, age 13, is a 7th Grade student at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Arya started learning piano at the age of 4. She develops her skills and techniques under the tutoring of Ms. Cynthia Crotty.
 
Arya has won a number of regional, national and international piano competitions in classical piano over the years. She made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in May 2015 after winning 2nd prize at the American Protégé competition. Arya has been a regular performer (10 times) at Carnegie Hall and Stern hall after winning many international competitions. Arya was invited to a music study to Europe with a scholarship for a 10-day period and also performing in Germany, Salzburg, and Italy.
 
Arya has also performed at Mozarteum Salzburg, Austria in June of 2017. Arya was also invited to perform at GLÄSERNER SAAL, Vienna.
 
Arya was awarded "The Confucius Institute Award for Distinguished Performance of Chinese Music" at a Chinese competition held in Cleveland.
 
Arya also participates at the NEOMTA Junior music festival and has received Unanimous Superior rating by the judges. She received her 1st gold cup in March of 2016.
 
Arya also enjoys playing chess and competes in chess competitions.
