Elizabeth Gekova
Elizabeth Gekova (born 15 January 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria) took her first violin lessons at the age of six. Currently she is a student of Mrs. Blagorodna Taneva at the National Music School Lyubomir Pipkov in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her first International Competition of Young Musicians playing classical instruments, Pernik, Bulgaria brought her a fist prize and a golden medal in 2014. In 2015 Elizabeth was awarded a second prize and a silver medal at the National Competition with international participation Orpheus gift. The same year she won another second prize at the VII International String Competition in Nis, Serbia. When she was 10 years old, she won first prize and a gold medal at XXIII National Competition for Performance of Bulgarian music Burgas, Bulgaria. In 2016 Elizabeth takes part in IX Competition for Young Musicians playing Orchestral Instruments Dobrin Petkov Plovdiv, Bulgaria and this brought her a second prize and silver medal. Also she participated in eMuse Online Music Competition 2017 and is awarded second prize. Elizabeth Gekova has already worked with such renowned violin professors as prof. Dora Schvarzberg (Vienna), Dimitar Burov (Head of strings at Harrow School in London). Also she participated in the Workshop Vienna 2015 with the young and succesful violinists and teachers Zornitsa Ilarionova and Maria Ramalchanova. Elizabeth has given successful performances in Kaisersaal (Vienna), St. Peter's Cathedral, Crypt (Vienna), The National Palace of Culture (Sofia, Bulgaria), Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts (Plovdiv, Bulgaria), Youth Theatre Nikolai Binev (Sofia, Bulgaria), Sofia Hotel Balkan (Sofia, Bulgaria), Central Military Club (Sofia, Bilgaria).
