Christi Park
Christi Park, age 22, currently studies at Indiana University under both Mauricio Fuks and Stanley Ritchie. She recently graduated with a BM in Violin Performance and has decided to pursue her graduate studies in both violin and Baroque violin. Her studies began in Chicago, and her teachers are Cyrus Forough, Ik-Hwan Bae, and several others. She has studied for three years under Stanley Ritchie and has had extensive solo, chamber, and orchestral performing experience as well.
Christi began playing the violin at the age of three and the piano at the age of four. She has excelled on both instruments at an early age, placing her as a finalist for piano competitions under the tutelage of Emilio del Rosario and has been awarded numerous times for her violin playing from past competitions such as first place at the Chinese Fine Arts Society Competition, 2nd place at SAM competition for violin, and premiered performance of Toad by Jeongkyu Park by winning the best Interpretation Award at Sejong Music Competition for Violin and many others. She has also participated in leading orchestras such as the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as Indiana University Baroque Orchestra. She has had the privilege to work with Marc Destrube, Wendy Gillespie, Nigel North, Ingrid Matthews, Jaap ter Linden, Elizabeth Wallfisch, and Robert Mealy.
