Allison Jones
Allison Jones is an eighteen year-old, classically-trained American soprano. In May, she graduated with honors in vocal music from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in Houston, Texas. This fall, she is continuing her music education at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has a special interest in opera and has performed in scenes from Die Fledermaus, The Tales of Hoffman, Der Freischütz, Hansel and Gretel and Don Giovanni. She has been studying classical singing with Dr. Isabelle Ganz in Houston for the last two years. Highlights of her senior year include participating in the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) High School Honor Choir (conducted by Eric Whitacre), winning the Greater Houston NATS (GHNATS) senior high school girls Classical division, and receiving a vocal scholarship from The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston. Allison also won third place in the 2017 Vocal Artists Management (VAM) Young Vocalists online competition, receiving the endorsement of manager, Dr. James Greening-Valenzuela. He wrote that “Her immense talent is undeniable: she possesses an exceptionally beautiful vocal instrument, along with an innate, natural musicality and a communicative expressivity well beyond her years. Clearly a young artist with a bright future, we have no doubt that Ms. Jones will continue to succeed in the musical field and we look forward to following what promises to be a marvelous and fulfilling career.”
