Sophia Yoon, an 11th grader at Memorial High School, has been playing cello since she was 11 years old, and is currently studying with Donna Rogers. Sophia was selected to perform in the 2018, 2019, and 2020 TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) All State Orchestra, placing 4th in the state this year, and has received 1st chair in the TMEA All-Region Orchestra four years in a row and outstanding performances for 4 years in a row at the Spring Branch Independent School District Solo and Ensemble Festival. She is currently participating in the Houston Youth Symphony Orchestra, and has been a member for 5 years.
