Ryan Chou
Ryan Chou, 13, from Virginia, USA, began his violin studies at the age of six and currently studies with Amy Beth Horman. His musical talent has been recognized in many concerts and competitions including but not limited to: Second place in the YMIC Metropolitan Solo & Chamber Music Festival, Second place in the American Protégé International Piano and String Competition, First place in the Concert Artists International Maestro Competition, and Second place in the WPAS Feder Memorial String Competition. As a result of winning these competitions, Ryan has been honored to perform in the prestigious musical venues such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, The Mansion at Strathmore in Maryland and National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
In addition to his solo performances, Ryan plays in the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra since 2014 and plays in his school chamber orchestra. Ryan is also frequently asked to perform at senior centers, retirement centers and various community events. When he isn’t playing the violin, he enjoys reading, hands-on-building and robotics, archery, kayaking, and creating movies.
