David Bleyman



David Bleyman started playing piano when he was five and a half and joined Mrs. Shklar’s studio in the fall of 2011. David enjoys performing his favorite pieces at various concerts, particularly those of Romantic composers like Schumann, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Schubert and Liszt. He also played chamber music with his grandfather who was a cellist. David is a six times winner of the top Grand Prix at the Music-Fest Rising Talents Competition – in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020.  In 2017, David won Grand Prize at the IMAS Talented Young Musicians Olympia Competition and got third place at the ENKOR International Competition. He performed many times at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and played at The Academy of Music at Kimmel Center.  David also received the top High Honors awards at the NJMTA 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2014 Spring Recital Auditions and Honors award at the NJMTA 2013 Spring Recital Auditions.  In 2018, he won the second prize at the Best Rachmaninoff Competition for the performance of Rachmaninoff’s Prelude and this year received the second prize at the Best Schubert Competition for the performance of Schubert’s Impromptu. When he is not practicing or doing his homework, David loves to play sports and video games with his friends, read and travel.
