Alyson Ramsey, a 7th grader at The Barstow School, resides in Shawnee, Kansas. She took an early interest in music, beginning private piano lessons at the age of four. Alyson participated in the Mid-American Music Association (MAMA) competition and won second place in piano competitive in 2014 and third place in 2015. Her team won first place in the MAMA quiz bowl competition in 2016. In 2013, as a first grader, she received Honorable Mention nationally for musical composition in the PTA Reflections contest. She has participated and received high ratings in the Piano Guild Audition for six straight years. Alyson also enjoys singing, composing, and playing clarinet and bass clarinet at school band. She often paints, draws, and writes in her spare time and is accomplished in both visual arts and literature. Alyson also participates in swim team.
