Hava Polinsky
Hava Polinsky is 17 years old, from St. Louis, Missouri, and is a senior at Clayton High School. She has been playing the violin since she was 5 years old. She studies with Joo Kim, and previously studied with Dana Myers, both members of the St. Louis Symphony. Hava made her professional solo debut with the St. Louis Symphony on December 31, 2016. She played Ziguenerweisen under the direction of David Robertson. This is Hava's sixth season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, and third consecutive season as co-concertmaster. Hava is also a member of the Community Music School's Preparatory Program.
For the past two summers, Hava has attended the Aspen Music Festival and School. She was a member of the Aspen Chamber Symphony and collaborated with musicians such as Joshua Bell, Orli Shaham, David Robertson, and Nicolas McGegan. Hava also studied at the Indiana University Summer String Academy, and the Interlochen Arts Academy.
Hava has won many local competitions including the St. Louis Philharmonic, St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra (2015 and 2017), Yangtze River, UMSL, Alton, Belleville, and University City Concerto Competitions. Hava has won Honorable Mention (2015 and 2016) at the Midwest Young Artists National Chamber Music Competition, and has also competed at Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.
In the fall, Hava will be attending The Juilliard School. She would like to thank her family, teachers, and friends for their endless love and support.
