William Suwandi


William Suwandi is a sophomore at West Ranch High School. William has been playing violin since he was 7 years old, and currently takes lesson with Sam Fischer. William enjoys performing as a soloist, competing in competitions, and participating in chamber groups and orchestras. William has won 1st place at the American Protégé Concerto Competition, which gave him opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall. He has also received awards in competitions such as MTAC Southern California Junior Bach Festival, Bach Competition at Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra & Master Chorale, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, MTAC VOCE Competition, Satori Strings Contest, Southwest Bach Festival, Great Composer International Competition, and Enkor International competition. He participates in the annual Certificate of Merit program and completed the final advanced level when he was 13 years old. He has been awarded the MTAC branch honors of the past four consecutive years. William has performed with Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra as a soloist and has participated in solo masterclass with distinguished artist such as Vijay Gupta, Margaret Batjer, and Suli Xue, Franklyn D’Antonio, Cheryl Norman Brick. William was a concertmaster of Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra and the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, with whom he performed in Cremona, Montecatini, and Rome. He is also a concertmaster of the CSUN Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and he is also a concertmaster at his school orchestra.
