Jane Raty
Jane Raty, 21, from Salt Lake City, is a senior in the piano performance program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she holds the prestigious E. Mona Smith Scholarship. She has studied piano for fifteen years and is a student of Dr. Irene Peery-Fox. Jane has received many awards and top prizes, most recently in the Utah Music Teacher’s Association Concerto Competition, the 2013 and 2014 Piano Concerto Competition at Brigham Young University, and the Utah Symphony Youth Guild Competition. In 2015, Jane was selected to play the Rachmaninoff 2nd Concerto with the BYU Symphony Orchestra, and received Honorable Mention at the Utah Symphony Salute to Youth concerto auditions. Jane has performed as a soloist in the 2014 Youth Guild Recital at Westminster College, in the Family Concert Series at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square, and in the Rising Stars Concert at Utah State University. Jane graduated high school as valedictorian with an International Baccalaureate diploma. She has performed as an accompanist with the BYU Women’s Chorus at Abravanel Hall and is featured in their album My God Is a Rock. After completing her Bachelor’s degree at BYU, Jane hopes to attend graduate school for performance and start her own piano studio. When she’s not practicing, Jane likes hiking and baking cupcakes.
