Cameron started playing the piano at age 5, and loved that it was challenging and personal. At age 12 she began her study with Dr. Irene Peery-Fox. Over the next few years she developed an increase of respect and admiration for her teacher and the instrument as well. Cameron has competed in many solo competitions, placing in first and other high finalist positions in the Salt Lake Piano Competition, finals in the Encore competition, and perfect scores in State Solo and Ensemble, as well as placing in the UMTA concerto competition. She has participated in duet camps and has seventeen piano students of her own. Cameron loves working with other instrumentalists and tries to surround herself with music wherever and whenever she can. Whether that be by attending lessons, composing music, joining the school orchestra as a first violin, or performing in church services, funerals, and weddings. She also loves to share her gift through service, and plans musical programs at a local rest home every month. Cameron is grateful for all opportunities she has to perform and hopes that she will continue to find ways to share her love for music.
