Sky Rong, 14, from Overland Park, Kansas, has been playing piano for 9 years under Ms. Ying-Yu Emily Yeh’s tutelage. He was awarded First Prize in the International Music Competition “Paris and London’ Grand Prize Virtuoso duet division in 2019 and performed at London Royal Albert Hall and Paris Philharmonic Hall in March, 2019. He participated in the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition chamber music division in January, 2017 and received third place and invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, New York in April 2017. Sky received first prize in the Great Composers International Competition, The Music of America Competition ensemble division in 2017. Sky Rong were named the first place winner in piano duet division in the Kansas Music Teachers Association State Honors Competition in 2012 and Honorable Mention in piano solo division in 2014. He also participated in the Mid-America Music Association Music Festival and were chosen Outstanding Young Performer in piano duet division in 2012 and 2014.
Sky also plays drum at a local music band.
