Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sarah Rushing is currently a Doctoral of Musical Arts student at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studies with David Korevaar. She received the Masters of Music in Piano Performance degree from Ithaca College, where she studied with Jennifer Hayghe, and the Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance degree from Louisiana State University, where her teachers included Willis Delony and Gregory Sioles.
As a solo and collaborative performer, Sarah has appeared in competitions and recitals in Louisiana, Arkansas, North Carolina, New York, and Colorado. In 2013, she was featured on American Public Media’s “Performance Today.” Most recently, Sarah worked as the Collaborative Piano Intern at Rocky Ridge Music Center in Estes Park, CO. Sarah spent two summers performing and studying at the Aspen Music Festival with pianist Ann Schein.
