Marina Bengoa Roldan


Marina is currently studying the Master of Music degree in piano performance at Georgia State University in the studio of Sergio Gallo. She has a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in GSU and is an Artist-in-Residence in CMC Atlanta where also is teaching. A native of Spain, Marina discovered her passion for music at 7, she studied Intermediate Grade of Piano at Centro Integrado de Música ""Padre Antonio Soler,"" Madrid (Spain) with Fé del Campo and Javier Gómez Dolera, winning the Special Prize of Piano. She received the Bachelor ́s Degree in Piano from the Conservatorio Salvador Seguí, Castellón (Spain) with the professor Leonel Morales, with honors in Piano and Chamber Music. Marina has won some prizes in international and national piano competitions: Honorable mention, MTNA piano competition (2015); Third Prize, II International Piano Competition “Julio García Casas” (2015); Third and Second Prize, III National piano Competition Gabriel Teruel Machí (2012, 2014); Second Prize, XV National piano Competition of Xátiva (2012); Third Prize, XV International Piano Competition of San Sebastián (2008), First Prize Hazen, El Escorial, Madrid. (2005, 2007, 2009). She has participated in several Masterclasses, including Orford Academy (Canada) 2016, 24. Escuela y Festival Internacional de Música Presjovem 2014. Sommerakademie 2013 of the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Mozarteum, Salzburg (Austria). She made her debut with orchestra in 2013 playing the Rachmaninov second piano concerto in several concert halls of Valencia. Recently she was selected to play in the Honors recital where she was awarded with a Dean’s award in Georgia State University. In May she made her debut at Carnegie Hall due to an award received by American Protégé piano and strings competition. This past summer Marina received a scholarship from the Chopin Society of Atlanta, she participated in The Paris International Summer Sessions and VI International piano Course in Valdemossa ( Catedra Chopin). A winner of the Brumby Concerto Competition she performed Prokofiev 1st piano concerto with GSU Symphony Orchestra last fall.
