Julia Di Fiore


Julia Di Fiore, mezzo-soprano, recently made her professional opera debut with Alamo City Opera as Cinderella. Julia has also portrayed the title role in Bolcom’s Lucrezia, Ottavia in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Lady with a Hat Box/Foreign Singer in Postcard from Morocco, Dorabella in CosĂ­ fan tutte, Second Lady and Third Spirit in Die Zauberflöte, Rose Segal in Musto’s Later the Same Evening, Jane in Patience, and the Witch in Into the Woods, for which she won the Magda Lachs Award for Exceptional Performance in the Current Year’s Opera Production at Vanderbilt University. Recently settled in Austin, Julia sings with the Austin Opera Chorus, One Ounce Opera, the Ars Longa Ensemble, Tinsel Singers, Inversion Ensemble, and Panoramic Voices. A lover of early music as well, Julia has also performed with Music City Baroque and the Tallahassee Bach Parley. Lately, Julia was named a winner for the Classical Singer Magazine’s Online Summer Competition. Her other accomplishments include second place in The American Prize in Opera for university women, a finalist for the National Opera Association’s Young Artist Competition, and scholarships from the Tallahassee Music Guild and the Young Singers Foundation.
