A Bay Area native, cellist Ashley Ng recently received her Professional Studies Certificate from The Boston Conservatory, at which she has also completed her Master of Music degree in Cello Performance, under the tutelage of Rhonda Rider. She studied under Dr. Marek Szpakiewicz at Azusa Pacific University in Southern California, where she graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance.
She first performed internationally in May 2015, and again in January 2016, collaborating with one of Hong Kong’s finest pianists, Stephen Wong. In August 2015, she traveled to China with an APU-based quartet, performing in various cities, as well as Masterworks Festival in Zhengzhou. Ashley has taken masterclasses with artists, such as Ralph Kirshbaum, Thomas Landschoot, Steve Doane, and Daniel Rothmüller, to name a few. Ashley attended Heifetz International Music Institute Ashkenasi/Kirshbaum Chamber Music Seminar during the summer of 2016. She loves to create concerts and has concertized chamber programs not only internationally, but also in the Bay Area, as well as Southern California.
Ashley is currently based in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
