Rose Haselhorst


Rose Haselhorst is a junior in high school and studies violin with Joo Kim of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Rose is honored to be Co-principal of the Second Violin section of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She began studying violin with Joseph Kaminsky when she was four years old; at age seven, Rose started playing in Webster University's Community Music School orchestras. Rose has enjoyed playing in the String Ensemble, String Orchestra, Young People's Concert Orchestra, and Young People's Symphonic Orchestra. In 2014, she served as concertmaster of the John Burroughs Middle School orchestra.

Rose is the recipient of numerous awards for solo and concerto performances in the National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festival. She has twice participated in the Eureka College Summer Strings Art Festival under the direction of David Commanday, and in 2013, she served as concertmaster of the Eureka College Youth Strings Concert. This past summer Rose attended ARIA International Summer Academy where she studied with Daniel Phillips, Won-Bin Yim, and Peter Zazofsky. Rose is grateful to her family and educators who have given her the opportunity to pursue her passion for music.
