Jessica Wang, 13, is a rising 8th grader at the Highly Gifted Humanities & Communications Program in Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Germantown, Maryland, USA. She has been studying classical piano for over 8 years, and currently is a student of Dr. Wen-Yin Chan in Levine Music School, Washington DC. Jessica was the top prizewinner in many state, national and international piano competitions, such as 1st place in the Maryland State Music Teacher Association (MSMTA) Piano Solo Competition, 1st place in the Northern Virginia Music Teacher Association (NVMTA) Piano Achievement Award Competition, 1st place in Concert Artists International Virtuoso Competition, and 1st place in Washington DC Music Teacher Association (WMTA) Hartman Piano Competition. She has performed in the Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the US Department of State, the Embassy of Hungary, and the George Mason Performing Arts Center. She is also a frequent performer in hospitals and senior living communities. Besides piano, Jessica also studies flute and dance. She has performed ballet in the Kennedy Center, George Mason Performing Arts Center and many local communities. Last school year, Jessica was a student in Levine Music School’s prestigious Honors Program and a recipient of President’s Club.
