Abigail Dock
Most recently, Abigail Dock was a Resident Artist with Portland Opera, singing the role of Olga in Eugene Onegin and Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte in 2016. This summer she will sing the role of Amastre in Handel's Xerxes as the Glimmerglass Festival in upstate New York.
Ms. Dock received her B. Mus. from Rice University and her Master's Degree and Professional Studies Certificate in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory. Roles while at the Conservatory included Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina, Isabella in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri, Baba the Turk in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, and the Minskwoman in Jonathan Dove's Flight.
A Young Artist at the Caramoor Festival in New York in 2014, she performed the Page in Rigoletto, as well as covering the role of Orsini in Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia. She has received encouragement awards from the Connecticut and Oregon Districts and the New England Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, claimed third in the National Opera Association's scholarship competition, and was a finalist for the Opera Division of The American Prize.
