A junior at Punahou School, HI, sixteen year old Jairus Rhoades has been studying in the studio of Ms. Joana Zane Fan for 9 years and has been a laureate of multiple prizes on the local, national, and international level. Jairus has won first place in the Hawaii Music Teachers Association (HMTA) piano competition from the years 2012-2014, first and second prizes in the Aloha International Piano Festival junior and high school categories in the years 2012-2016, third prize in the Cooper International Piano Festival Competition, and first prize in the Steinway Piano Competition Division III of Hawai'i. Jairus has also studied and taken masterclasses with world renowned musicians such as Fabio Bidini of the Colburn Conservatory, the piano duet Anderson & Roe, Van Cliburn winner Jon Nakamatsu, and F Jairus has also performed in show 330 of NPR's "From The Top" with Mr. Christopher O'Riley, and enjoys listening to music, reading, and improvisation on piano in his free time.
