Emily Palmer


Emily Palmer, age 19, has been studying violin for 15 years with Routa Kroumovitch-Gomez and Alvaro Gomez, making her a second generation violin student of David Oistrakh.
In Fall 2018, Emily received a full talent scholarship to attend Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. She maintains a 4.0 GPA and is on the Dean’s List at Stetson as a Violin Performance Major and Creative Writing Minor. Emily serves as concertmaster for the Stetson University Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Opera Orchestra. She also teaches violin through the Community School at Stetson.

Emily became the youngest concertmaster at age 11 for the Florida Young Artist Orchestra in Orlando, Florida. Emily was also concertmaster of the Winter Park Chamber Music Academy for four years. She received 1st prize at the Lake District President’s Scholarship Competition in Orlando, and was a winner of the Central Florida Community Arts Young Artist Orchestra Concerto Competition in 2015, and the Winter Park Chamber Music Academy Concerto Competition in 2016 and 2017. Emily was also the Florida Federation State Competition winner in the Advanced Solo, Violin Duo, and Trio categories, and a finalist in the Violin Concerto category.

Emily has performed as a soloist with the Stetson University Youth Orchestra, the CFCArts Young Artist Orchestra and the Winter Park Chamber Music Academy Orchestra. She also performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Florida, including at churches and community events.

In July 2013, Emily received a scholarship to attend the Orfeo International Music Festival in Vipiteno, Italy. In July 2014, Emily and her sister were honored to perform several Bartók Duos at the prestigious gala concert at the Austrian Master Classes. In July 2019, Emily had her most memorable musical experience by participating in Blackburn Music Academy at Festival Napa Valley.
