Aliyah Douglas


Aliyah Douglas is twelve years old and attends the Wilson K-8 School in Oro Valley, Arizona. Aliyah has enjoyed studying with Stephanie Fox of the Magic Voice Studio for the last six years. At 10 years old, she was the first place winner in the junior high division of the New York Lyric Opera Vocal Competition. Aliyah competed against vocalists from across the United States in the 10-14 age group. After winning this competition, Aliyah was invited back to New York to perform on Broadway. Last year Aliyah placed first in the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition in the Art Song category for ages 12 and under and in the Marni Nixon International Vocal Competition in the Art Song category for ages 11-12. She was the first place winner at the Cal-Western Regional National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) auditions in the Musical Theatre and Classical categories in the 11-14 age group. Aliyah was also an America's Amateur Model & Talent (AAMTC) Talent of the Year and was the first alternate in International Cinderella Scholarship Pageant in the Miss Division.

On the weekends, Aliyah performs around Tucson for veterans, retirement communities and hospital patients with Kids Unlimited. She is also an active participant in local theatre productions. Her favorite roles include Fern in Charlotte’s Web with the Great American Playhouse and the King in Big River with Arts Express and the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind. In addition to singing, Aliyah plays the piano and takes ballet, tap, jazz, acro and lyrical classes.
