Hailing from Columbus, Georgia, the 405 Duo is dedicated to the performance of new music at the highest standard. Consisting of James Klausmeyer and Jordan Walsh, the group regularly performs both as a duet and as a part of the larger 909 Ensemble with percussionists Jonathan Mashburn and Joel Castro. Notable recent projects have included performances at the 2014 Columbus Minimalism Symposium, the 2015 Chosen Vale Percussion Seminar, an appearance in Clayton State University’s Educational Series, and the 2015 PASIC Chamber Competition. 405’s repertoire ranges from the works of veteran composers like Steve Reich and Alejandro Viñao to newer contributions by Jason Treuting and Wally Gunn. The duo is currently on hiatus as its members pursue graduate degrees at the University of Texas at Austin and Columbus State University. Upcoming activities include a recording project at Columbus State University and the 2017 Chosen Vale Percussion Seminar, both in the summer of 2017.
