Melody Jiang, 13 year-old, attends Chisholm Trail Middle School in Olathe, KS, is currently studying piano under Ying-Yu Emily Yeh’s tutelage. Melody has participated in many auditions and competitions and received numerous awards. In February 2017, Melody was awarded first place in the Kansas City Music Teachers Association Junior Concerto Competition. She was named the 1st place winner of Piano Competitive and the Outstanding Young Performer Winner in Violin Duet Division in the Mid-America Music Association Music Festival in 2016. Melody is also a first prize winner in the Great Composers International Competition-Masters of Piano Sonata in 2016. Melody participated in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition Fall 2014 and received 2nd place. She was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, New York. She was the second place winner in the Kansas State Honors Competition in 2013 and 2016 and the Honorable Mention winner in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015. Melody has performed in the Kansas City Music Teachers Association Fall Festival and received the Highest Honors rating several times. She was also a National Piano Guild Audition National Winner in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In January 2014 and 2017, Melody was invited to perform for Kansas City Chinese-American Association Chinese New Year Honors Recital. Besides music, Melody loves to dance, swim, run, draw and write.
