John Ray
John Ray is an American flutist in his first year of college studying at the Hartt school of Music in Connecticut. His current teacher is professor Janet Arms. Originally from New Jersey, John has participated in various organizations such as the New York and New Jersey youth symphonies and is a member of both the New York and National Flute club. John received second place in the 2015 New Jersey flute Society concerto competition and has received scholarship awards from the Plainfield Musical Club, Westfield Musical Club, and Baroque orchestra of New Jersey. He has participated in various summer programs and masterclasses at both the Eastman School of Music and the Curtis Institute of Music. John is excited to pursue his studies further and eventually pursue a career in flute performance.
