Tristan Savella


Born in 1991, Filipino-American pianist Tristan Savella began taking piano lessons at the age of 8. From 2005-2009, he was a student at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen Michigan where he graduated with a Fine Arts Award in Music. He then studied at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York where he received his Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance in 2013. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Solo Piano Training at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. He has won prizes at numerous competitions, most recently third prize at the 2015 Concours Flame in Paris, and also prizes at the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition in New York City and YoungArts Week (sponsored by the National YoungArts Foundation) in Miami. He has performed across the United States, including performances at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and has also performed in Canada, France, Austria, Spain and Italy. His principal teachers include George Kern, Nelita True and TJ Lymenstull and he has performed in numerous Master Classes for world-renowned pedagogues, including Jacques Rouvier, Ronan O’Hora, Barry Douglas, Jeremy Denk, Don Weilerstein, Logan Skelton, Tamas Ungar and others. Tristan has also taken part in various music festivals, including the Banff Piano Master Class, the Gijon International Piano Festival and the Eastern Music Festival where he worked with Marc Durand, Julian Martin, James Giles and Yoshikazu Nagai.
