Sydney Weiser
Sydney Weiser is a junior at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts (Musical Theatre Department) and Hall High School in Connecticut. At the Hartt School of Music, Sydney studies voice with Nancy Andersen and piano with Arthur Villar. Additionally, she coaches with Emmett Drake and has trained in Hartt’s community dance division (ballet and jazz). Sydney also studies jazz and tap at GHAA. She is a fellow of the Ensign-Darling Vocal Fellowship at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, a recipient of both the Bel Canto and Andersen Awards at Hartt, a winner two years consecutively in NATS, a national semi-finalist in the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition, and a fifth-year performer with Hartt Vocal Honors. In musical theatre, a few of her favorite past roles include Lilli/Kate (Kiss Me Kate), Eponine (Les Miserables), The Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods), Rusty (Footloose), and Wednesday Addams (The Addams Family). She recently received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress for the Connecticut Music Theatre Awards for her performance as Maria in the GHAA production of West Side Story.
