Samantha Hach
Samantha Hach (b. 1995), flute, grew up in Liberty Township, Ohio where she graduated from Lakota East High School in 2013. She will be graduating from Miami in May of 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education. Prior to attending Miami, Samantha studied flute and piccolo with Morrigan O’Brien Kane for 7 years and has been studying with Rebecca Andres for the past 3 years. Performance highlights during her career include being a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, where she served as principal flute/piccolo for two years. In addition she was the 2013 Concerto Competition Winner at Lakota East High School, and has continued her performing with the Miami University Wind Ensemble for the past 5 semesters. In addition to this, Samantha was the 2015-2016 winner of the Concerto Competition at Miami University where she performed Nielsen's Flute Concerto with the Miami University Symphony Orchestra. She is a proud sister of Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity for women, where she is currently serving as the president of the Lambda Upsilon chapter at Miami. Throughout the year, Samantha serves as a Flute/Visual Technician for award winning marching bands in Ohio and Indiana as well as a regular lesson teacher for young flautists in the area.
