Natalie Boberg
Natalie Boberg is sixteen, beginning her violin studies at the age of nine. Natalie is currently Concertmaster of the Colburn Youth Orchestra, Concertmaster of Westridge School’s Chamber Orchestra, Co-Concertmaster of the Lake Avenue Community Orchestra, and first violinist of the Lumos String Quartet at The Colburn Community School of Performing Arts. In 2015, Natalie was Concertmaster for LA Opera’s Noah’s Flude, conducted by James Conlon. She has been awarded violin scholarships at Interlochen Center for the Arts and Boston University Tanglewood Institute and has received Honorable Mention in The Westside Music Foundation’s Concerto Competition playing Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5. Natalie’s violin artistry is growing under instructor Aimee Kreston of The Colburn School. She has been influenced greatly by composer and violin pedagogue Michael T. McLean, also of The Colburn School, and violinists Anne-Sophie Mutter and Hilary Hahn. Natalie has taken Master Classes with Peter Slowik, Andrea Sanderson, and Barbara Barber. Natalie is also a gifted vocalist, performing with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus alongside Gustavo Dudamel, John Williams, James Conlon, Kristen & Robert Lopez, Kristen Chenoweth, & Grant Gershon. She studies voice privately with Michelle Hemmings and is currently performing in Chamber Singers with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus.
