Katie Damon
Katie Damon fell in love with the harp at a cousin’s wedding at the age of thirteen months. With great difficulty, her parents managed to fend off her pleas for a harp until she was five, at which time she began studying with Julie Gaisford Keyes. Now nineteen years old, Katie studies with Dr. Carrol McLaughlin at the University of Arizona, pursuing a double degree in Harp Performance and Chemistry. Katie was a finalist at the Young Artist’s Harp Competition in 2014 and won Honorable Mention in the American String Teachers’ Association Competition in 2015. When she is not at the harp, Katie enjoys reading, playing the piano, and dance. Katie is thrilled to take this opportunity to share her love for the harp with you!
