Julie Kim (harp)
Julie Kim is in her final year of studies in the Bachelor of Music (Performance), specialising in harp at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. She is the recipient of the Corinna D'Hage Mayer String Scholarship. For the past twelve years, Julie has been studying under Louise Johnson, Principal Harp for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, Julie performed as Second Harp with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the 12th World Harp Congress. That same year, she served as Second Harp with the Australian Ballet Opera Orchestra for Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker’. In 2015, she also served as Second Harp with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in performances of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Elgar’s Symphony No. 1. In 2016, Julie performed Puccini’s La Bohème at the Hanoi Opera House for the 20th anniversary celebration of the Hennessy Concert Series as part of the Opera Australia - Sydney Conservatorium of Music Internship program.
