Jonathan Leibovitz


Jonathan started playing the recorder when he was 7 at the teacher Ganit Polin. when he was 11 he started the Clarinet at the teacher Eva Wasserman. At the age of 16 he moved to play for the Israel Philharmonic player Yevgeney Yehudin.

He played as a first clarinet with the Thelma Yellin orchestra (which he played as a soloist as well), the young philharmonic orchestra and with ensembles on behalf of the Jerusalem music center, The Young Philharmonic Orchestra and David Goldman program for outstanding musicians, with the gaudiness of Eyal Ein Habar, Mouricio Paez, Yossi Arenheim and others. These days he is participating with ensembles on behalf of buchman mehta school of music.

Jonathan played with many orchestras such as The national wind orchestra, The young chamber orchestra, Givatayim orchestra (in which he played as soloist at the berliner philharmonic hall), Beer shva symphonieta and with the Israel philharmonic as a freelance.

Jonathan has won the Ronen foundation scholarship (2013), the outstanding player scholarship on the name of Moses Shlush from the Young Philharmonic Orchestra (2015), scholarship by the name of Shen Dor (2015) and scholarships from GIvatyime conservatory and town hall. Jonathan is a First prize winner of the Kfar Saba competition (2016), third prize winner at the annual competition of Buchman mehta school of music (2016) and excellence scholarship winner from the America Israel Cultural foundation (2015-2016).

Jonathan has played as a soloist with many orchestras such as The Israel Chamber Orchestra, Haifa Symphonic Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic.

This year Jonathan started his military service in the status of outstanding musician and in parallel started his studying at the Buchman Mehta School Of Music.
