My name is Jayza Duhon I am 16 years old, I am a junior at Auburn Mountain View High School in Auburn, Washington.
I began signing in my children’s choir at church at the age of 3. I found my voice in middle school singing the national anthem and received a standing ovation.
I continue to develop and nurture my voice under the direction and training of Janine Dodd.
I performed in the 2016 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition receiving an honorable mention.
I have also participated in Washington Music Educators Association Solo and Ensemble 3 years in a row
and received the Superior rating of 1 which is, “A Performance of the highest caliber, distinctive in every aspect” all 3 years. This year I came in as 2nd alternate to state at the Solo and Ensemble competition.
I have performed at several venues and participated in master classes.
I have received two Letter Awards for Choir and received outstanding female vocalist award 2 years in row. Singing is and will always be my first love.
