Coleman Rowlett
Coleman Rowlett, born September 8th, 1994 in Winchester, VA, is a recent graduate of Susquehanna University with a B.M. in Music Composition. At Susquehanna, Coleman studied composition under Dr. Patrick Long and saxophone under Dr. Gail B. Levinsky. In the fall of 2016, Coleman will begin pursuing his Master of Music in Music Composition at Butler University.
As a saxophonist, Coleman has performed with several different ensembles, including the Seasoned Sounds Big Band, For Dancers Only, Loudoun Jazz Ensemble, Clarke County Community Band, and the SUSQ Quartet, in addition to being a solo performer. At Susquehanna University, Coleman was also a member of the University Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Orchestra, and Saxophone Ensemble. He also frequently performs in pit orchestras for companies such as the Shenandoah Summer Music Theater, often doubling on clarinet. Coleman has participated in masterclasses and lessons with Dr. Susan Fancher, the Capitol Quartet, Dr. Timothy Roberts, and Alfonso Padilla.
