Christopher Carloni
Christopher Carloni began playing bass at the age of 9. At the age of 11 he was a Milwaukee Civic Music Private Lesson Scholarship winner in 2008 and currently studies string bass with John Babbitt. He was a member of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) for five years. Christopher held the MSO Philharmonia Orchestra Bass Section leader position, and was principal bass player of the MYSO Senior Symphony since 2012. In January 2012 Christopher was the runner up in the Philharmonia concerto competition.
A five year member of the Wisconsin State Honors orchestra program, Christopher was selected to be the bass section leader in both 2012 and 2014. In spring of 2014 Christopher was recognized by the National Federation of Music Clubs as the third place finisher for the Mary Alice Cox award which is open to both cello and bass players. Christopher was a 2014 Milwaukee Civic Music Association High School Showcase Finalist and Young Artist Scholarship Winner. He placed third in the Menomonee Falls Symphony Concerto Competition in 2016. Christopher recently performed Koussevitzky Bass Concerto with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in April of 2016. Besides playing, he teaches electric and double bass at Brass Bell Music Store. Christopher attends the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee majoring in String Bass Performance.
