Braun Oldenkamp
Braun Oldenkamp, tenor, was most recently an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera for the 2015 season. Previously he has sung the roles Jo the Loiterer in Virgil Thomson’s The Mother of Us All, of Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Gherardo in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with Luther College Opera, and Sam in Moore’s The Ballad of Baby Doe with Music By the Lake. A frequent soloist in recent years with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, he has sung as tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah as well as Jenkins’ The Armed Man. He also appeared last season as tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Luther College Symphony Orchestra. Future engagements include the role of Alfredo in La traviata with UNT Opera. Braun holds a B.A. from Luther College, and is currently pursuing his M.M. in Voice Performance at the University of North Texas.
