Alicia Miguelez
Alicia Miguelez has been studying harp since the age of 5 with Hoda Nassim. She has competed since the age of 6 in Canada's prestigious Kiwanis Music Festival (Ottawa Chapter), consistently earning bronze, silver, or gold. For the past two years she has played at Canada's National Arts Centre in Ottawa, as part of "Tune Town", a concert day presented by the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (Ottawa Region Branch). Her experience includes the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Summer Camp and, in the summer of 2016, the Young Artists' Harp Seminar Summer Camp in Rabun Gap (Georgia). Alicia was the 2016 Royal Conservatory Gold Medal winner for Ontario (Grade 4 harp) and played at the Gold Medal Awards recital at Mazzoleni Hall (Toronto). She won the 2017 Marion Dempsey Memorial Trophy for Best Musicianship in harp, awarded by the Ottawa chapter of the Kiwanis Music Festival, and received the 2017 Musical Arts Club Scholarship. Alicia currently plays with the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy harp ensemble under the direction of Michelle Gott. She is also starting to perform at benefit concerts in the Ottawa area.
