Vivian Ni


Vivian Ni was born in 1999 in Fredericton, NB Canada, and started to learn piano at age 5. Currently she’s a Grade 11 student at Ecole St.-Anne Fredericton.

In 2015,
Vivian was awarded the 1st place at the 2015 American Protégé International Concerto Competition Intermediate Category in March. The Gala concert was hosted in November at Carnegie Hall.
The same month, Vivian was boardcased on both CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) radio and Television.
In October, Vivian was placed 2nd (Honorable Mention) at the 4th Tureck International Bach Competition for Young Pianists.
She also got the 2nd prize at the 2nd Edition of ENKOR International Piano and Violin Competition.
She’s also been accepted into the National Youth Orchestra of Canada this year. In the summer, she’s been trained at the Music Niagara’s Performance Academy Program.

In 2014, Vivian has accomplished of winning:

The 3rd place at the 44th Federation of the Canadian Music Festival (known as the Canadian National Competition) in Kelowna, BC, in August.
She also placed the 3rd at the Canadian Music Competition in Quebec City in June.
Vivian won the first place in the 2014 American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition Piano Junior Category (age 11 to 14), and also received the Judges’ Distinction Award, and performed at Carnegie Hall in May 2014.
The 3rd place in piano at the 9th Toronto Sinfonietta Concerto Competition in December, and performed both instruments at the gala concert on the evening of February 21st 2015.
Vivian was the winner of the 2014 Debut Atlantic Award for Musical Excellence in March, and performed in PEI in September.

In 2013, Vivian won the 1st place in piano 13 year old category at the Canadian Music Competition in Sherbrook, Quebec in June, she also received the Gold medal from RCM Grade 10 piano examination in November. Another Gold medal was awarded to Vivian in 2011 for her Grade 8 piano examination.
Vivian has been the recipient of more than 53 scholarships, 33 awards and 11 certificates for her musical talent. She is a registered RCM teacher and member of Fredericton Music Teachers Association, and works as a student teacher for the Fredericton Music Teachers Association since 2012 and as a pianist at Fredericton St. Paul’s Church, an alternate pianist for the New Maryland United Church, volunteer musician at the Fredericton Brunswick Street Baptist Church. She also organizes fundraiser concert in the Fredericton area.

To add to her success in music, Vivian is also a National Lifesaving Guard at YMCA pool.
