Sara Novoselic


Sara Novoselić (Zagreb, 1992) started studying the cello at the Arts Academy in Rome (Accademia Internazionale di Musica di Roma) with professor Aldo d’Amico. She continued her studies in Zagreb at the ‘Elly Bašić’ School of Music in Zagreb (Croatia) and enrolled at the Music Academy of Zagreb in 2011, where she is currently studying with prof.  Krešimir Lazar and ass. Branimir Pustički.
She has attended numerous seminars and masterclasses held by admired cellists and pedagogues including David Grigorian, Reinhard Latzko, Jakob Kullberg and Silvia Sondeckiene. She is a member of several Croatian youth orchestras with which she has had successful performance throughout Croatia and Europe, the most notable being at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and well as participating in the 9th European Orchestra Festival in Tallinn (Estonia).
She has been awarded at numerous national competitions, the most recent being in 2016 at the Croatian National music competition with an apsolute 1st prize, in 2014 with a 3rd prize at the Papandopulo national competition for young musicians as well as absolute 1st prizes at the National Chamber Music competition in the category of quartets in 2014 and 2015. In 2015 her quartet was awarded the Jeunesses Musicales scholarship with which they were chosen as representatives of Croatia at the International Chamber Music Campus in Weikersheim, Germany. She has also recently had the opportunity to perform a solo recital at the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in Split, and has had numerous other performances throughout Croatia.
