Natalie Newton


Natalie Newton, 18, is from Moss Point, Mississippi. She has studied for the past six years with Dr. Robert Holm of Mobile, Alabama, and has had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with Axel Lenarduzzi, Dr. Kenneth Drake, and Dr. Ludmila Lazaar, among others. Natalie has won top honors at numerous piano competitions in Louisiana and Alabama at the local and state levels, as well as being a regular winner of the annual Mobile Piano Virtuoso Competition and Sonata Contest. She has been a frequently featured pianist in the Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus Young Artist Showcase and the Mobile Schumann Club Concert. Natalie has performed as a concerto soloist with the Gulf Coast Youth Symphony Orchestra in Gulfport, Mississippi, and Biloxi, Mississippi. Last summer Natalie won 2nd place in the senior piano division of the international Enkor Competition. This fall she won 1st place in the high school division of the Gulf Coast Steinway Competition. Natalie also competed as a finalist at the 2016 Music Teachers National Association Southern Regional Division. Natalie loves to collaborate and is an avid lover of chamber music. Over the years she has enjoyed playing in the Mobile Piano Ensemble, participating in the Mobile Symphony's Chamberfest, and attending University of South Alabama's Piano Camps. Natalie especially relishes playing for benefits and for church and community functions with her siblings—two violinist, a cellist, and an accordionist.
